Since I was putting the door panel back on at 2:00 a.m. and the factory baffle is plastic that is angled so that there is more clearance at that area. The door panel just barely fit back on since my baffle was flat 3/4" m.d.f. I got lucky as the bottom mounting bolt is very close to the bottom of the door panel. Minimal ISO based on Slackware64 that runs from RAM (192 MB). I traced the plastic piece to match the shape. Installer ISO based on Slackware64 (1.42 GB). I don't know about the 2004 titan, but mine had a 6x9 in each front door. I though about using some radio backstrap and attaching at three points, and bending it while it was in the truck until it was aimed correctly, but I didn't know if it would work.įor midbass there is a 6 1/2" woofer in each front door from the PPI 356cs component set. I've read that some people use laser pointers to aim their pods, but I don't have one. For the passenger side we measured the dowels and the points on the driver's side and matched them as closely as we could. From then we just adjusted it and hot glued it in the truck to make sure the angle was correct. We hot glued it with dowels once to check and it was slightly off. When we got right, she kept holding it while I measured three points on the baffle to three points on the a-pillar panel. The pictures below are in no particular order.įor figuring the angles my wife held the speaker baffle on the driver's side while I sat in the passenger seat. (I should have tested them before mounting but oh well.) I also originally planned to use an Image Dynamics IDQ12 but I couldn't make it work with the depth of the box. You can see the MRV-1000 in some of the pics. I bought two on Craigslist and both turned out defective. I originally planned to use an Alpine MRV-1000 since it matches the two T500's that I already have. This may turn out to be a mistake as far as sound quality is concerned, but control with this thing is pretty sweet. When I got a new truck I based the system on the discontinued Harmon Kardon Drive/Play. I've been using a circa 2004 or 2005 Alpine adapter in my previous car and scrolling is slooooooow. The whole idea for this was to make controlling my ipod easier. (Almost solo.had help from my father in law.) I've modified systems that someone else installed for me but never done one from scratch.
